If you can't install the driver for your modem using the installer disc, I recommend you to visit the official download website. From there, you can search for your device and download the appropriate driver that is compatible with your operating system.

The utility allows you to manage WiFi interface. To assign a password to your wireless connection, you need to log in to the router by typing its configuration IP address (usually it's 192.168.0.1 192.168.1.1 but you can check it by going to Start > Run > type cmd /k ipconfig /all, locate the Gateway and that's the IP to use). Log in to the administration interface then go to Wireless > Wireless Security and you can change or assign a new password.

When I install the driver, I receive an installing problem message. It says that "the name is already in use as either a service name or a service display name". Can you help me to install it?

This behavior may occur if the utility leaves entries in the registry when you remove it from your computer. Go to My Computer > Properties > Device Manager, expand the Network Adapters list, right-click your Network Adapter and select Uninstall. Press the Windows key + R and type msconfig in the box. Click OK and select Diagnostic Startup - load basic devices and services only from the General tab. Go to Services tab, check the Hide All Microsoft Services box and clear all the checked boxes from the list. Press OK and restart your computer. Press again the Windows key + R combination, type regedit and click OK. Select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, click the File tab and Export. Save it on your desktop and named it HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services and delete all registry entries specific to your network adapter. Press again Windows key + R and type msconfig and click Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services. Go again to Services tab, check all the services boxes and restart your computer. Now you can install the driver without problems. Also you can check the Microsoft official support page to find more information about this issue.

After installing the Realtek RTL 8187 Wireless LAN the icon in the system tray has a cross in a little red field on the right handside and after connecting laptop with the USB-cable of the antenna doesn't work. What can be the solution?

You will have to make sure that the drivers were installed correctly. Go to Start > Run > Device Manager (Start > Run > devmgmt.msc) and check the driver's installation because it's possible your device wasn't even installed. After installation, start the application and go to its configuration settings. Select it to be the default application to manage wireless connections and then it will work.
